This excessive heat may trigger the BEC's thermal protection, causing shutdown and malfunction. In contrast, the Henge UBEC with a switching regulator only needs about 0.37A from the battery to deliver the same output (5V/1A), resulting in: Input Power: 14.8V × 0.37A = 5.476W Output Power: 5V × 1A = 5W Thus, the overall efficiency is 91.3%, significantly reducing heat generation and improving system reliability. Ease of Installation (ESC with internal BEC): If your brushless ESC already has a built-in BEC, simply disconnect (or remove) the red wire between the ESC and receiver.

Connect the UBEC input leads directly to your battery, and plug its output cable into any unused channel on your receiver. No modifications are necessary to the ESC itself, simplifying setup. Ease of Installation (ESC without internal BEC): No changes to the ESC are required.

Additionally, position the entire UBEC unit at the maximum possible distance from the receiver. Tips Use a small, pointed screwdriver to carefully remove the red wire from the ESC connector. Once removed, make sure to insulate it properly to avoid short circuits.

If you ever need to reuse the ESC’s internal BEC functionality, simply reconnect the red wire into its original position.
