When I'm not writing, I am usually found heading for the outdoors - walking, running, cycling, climbing, skiing. I'm happiest when faced with an uphill challenge and have a passion for hills and mountains.I studied speech sciences at University College London and have spent much of my life teaching, lecturing and working with students with language and literacy difficulties. More recently, I spent an incredible year doing the MA in Writing for Young People at Bath Spa University.During 8 years living in New Zealand, I started writing books for younger children.

I then switched to YA before beginning work with the lovely polar bear, Mister P. I am currently working on the fourth book in the series.It's easy to miss out on opportunities in life because we're afraid of failure. That's why I like to take risks, set myself challenges and seek out new opportunities.

I love reading and writing as books can take us anywhere and everywhere we want to go.
